Sacred Valley of the Incas

Sacred Valley of the Incas

Let yourself enjoy a tour through beautiful towns from the colonial times. The beauty of their people, their folklore, their crafts, their way of life and their clothes will give us unforgettable memories.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is located on the banks of the Urubamba River which, in the past, was called Vilcanota, which comes from the Quechua word Wilcamayu (“Sacred River”). The Incas built archaeological centers along its banks, which were related to the constellations of the Andean sky, further contributing to the beauty of this enchanting valley. According to historians, the development of the Sacred Valley of the Incas was possible thanks to the government of the Inca Pachacuteq. During his government, the Inca Empire expanded, accomplished the triumph over different peoples, including the Chankas, and was divided into 4 suyos (Chinchaysuyo, Antisuyo, Contisuyo and Collasuyo).

We will visit the archaeological complex of Pisaq. We will contemplate its impressive temples and platforms. We will pass through the town of Pisaq and continue our journey to the archaeological center of Ollantaytambo. Then we will continue to the archaeological complex of Chinchero, where we can appreciate the different types of crafts made by the local people.

Come with us to enjoy the beauty of this amazing excursion.
